Cutting out the paddle with a bandsaw. I am using an inexpensive Harbor Freight Chinese bandsaw which is good enough, but is nothing wonderful. The price was right, though if I were to buy again, I would invest in a higher quality bandsaw. A lot can be done to retrofit improve this machine. A 6 TPI blade is best, however here I am using a 3TPI which is really meant for ripping hardwoods.
Be careful!
